Turbocharger Bearing Housings
Smoky Mountain Machining, Inc. brings 25+ years experience to the manufacture of turbocharger bearing housings for diesel engine applications. We are equipped to handle both the large production demands of OEMs as well as the shorter run, quick-changeover requirements of the aftermarket industry.
We currently produce 60 unique part numbers with a broad range of production requirements - some of the more complex designs have over 300 measurable dimensions, all of which are identified, measured, and documented for SPC analysis. All parts are laser marked for traceability, and all assembly processes incorporate ISO:9000 and TS16949 certified quality-control checks. Production volumes range from 500 to 70,000 pieces per year and our end customers include some of the most well known on and off-road diesel equipment manufacturers, such as John Deere, Caterpillar, Mack, and Navistar.
Our modern machine shop is outfitted with latest technology CNC turning and milling centers for efficiently manufacturing these cast iron assemblies, in overall lengths from 4-9" and with diameters ranging from 4-10", to within ±.0002" tolerances.
